Even if Star Trek: Discovery does not necessarily consider the most popular series of the franchise, many fans have looked forward to the start of the 4th season. This was planned for the 18th of November 2021. And it remains — but not for the spectators in Germany. Because in a night and fog action, the complete series disappeared on yesterday evening (16 November 2021) suddenly from the offer of the streaming provider Netflix.
Thus, some rumors, which held themselves in the days before. Because while Netflix otherwise likes to touch the advertising drum for new seasons, these channels were muted. Questions were also not answered.
Star Trek: Discovery changes to Paramount +
As then out, the new streaming provider purchased Paramount + the rights of Netflix and radiates the fourth season now exclusively in its own service. This is not unusual per se, but shift movies and series more often from a provider to another. In the current case, however, it is particularly bitter. Because Paramount + is not to be received in Germany.
Fans from Germany must therefore wait for the broadcast of the fourth season. Current plans suggest that Paramount + will be receivable via SKY over the coming year. When exactly that will be and how high the additional costs fail, however, is not yet known.
What is Paramount +?
It is the streaming service of Viacom. These include, among other things, all rights to the Star Trek franchise and want to combine the associated series in the future under its own flag. The Star Trek series should become the driving horse of the streaming service and thus subscribers are used.
It is therefore also assuming that series such as Picard or any HD remakes of older series are sometime too paramount + hiking. Whether and when this will be the case, in case of doubt depends on the dear money. For awarded exploitation licenses could be recruited may be an expensive fun.
