One of the biggest investments for any person is a car, and therefore it is expected that due to the high prices that they have, it must cover all kinds of needs such as a stereo, heating and others. However, BMW wants to innovate in a way that is questionable in the market, since they want to charge for each of these functions.
Previously, the brand offered a kind of subscription to use some functions of the car, which was booed in its day, but this has not made the company give up its efforts. This time they are testing an offer in South Korea: the same one that consists of paying to heat their seats. Costing approximately $18 USD per month, or you can choose to pay for 'unlimited' access for a one-time payment of $415 USD.
For its part, the BMW store in the UK lists a variety of what BMW calls 'DriveConnected' features, including front seat heating (€15), heating of the steering wheel (10 euros) or the privilege of paying to have the on-board GPS Map switch updated with new information. It is not implemented in United States at this time, but it is likely that it will be soon.
Car enthusiasts looking for everything in one package might be a bit frustrated by this decision, since to get the whole part they're going to have to make these individual payments. It is worth mentioning that if this model succeeds for some strange reason, it is a matter of waiting for competitors to incorporate the same functions.
