One of the biggest complaints that the public had with the fourth phase of the MCU, were the questionable visual effects for some series and movies. This issue gained more strength with the premiere of the first trailer of She-Hulk _, and all culminated in the revelation that several special effects were not happy with the way Marvel Studios managed these projects. Now, recently the position of the actors and producers of the next Disney+ production on this subject was announced. **
As part of the press tour, Jessica Gao, Showrunner of She-Hulk, Kat Coir With Marvel Studios. The three support these people, and expect their employment situation to improve . This was what Gao said:
I feel incredibly deferent with the talent of these artists and the speed with which they have to work. Obviously, much faster than [the amount of time] given, in terms of producing these things.
I know that there are many eyes in the CG and many criticisms or whatever, but I think we have to be very aware of, as you say, how working conditions are not always optimal and that I have made these incredible advances in this industry [ And] in this technology, where I see it and I see thoughts instead of, you know, it does not look like a scene of a video game. It seems that I can see the person's thoughts. I can see the thoughts of the characters and I think that is... I feel very amazed by what they do. I am very grateful that we are at the point where, you know, we can work with these incredible artists.
On her part, Maslany mentioned that she is in favor of a workers' union , while Coiro commented:
The truth is that we work with them, but we are not behind the scenes in these long nights and days. If they feel pressured, we are with them and listen to them. You know, in terms of CGI's criticism, I think it has to do with the belief of our culture in the property of women's bodies. I think that much of criticism comes from feeling that they can destroy the CGI woman. There is much talk about her body type. And, you know, we base it a lot on Olympic athletes and not on bodybuilders, but I think that if we had gone on the other side, we would be facing the same criticism.
Although the GCI reception in the first trailer of she-hulk was not the best, the most recent advance of the series demonstrates a series of improvements in facial expressions and the movement of the characters. We remind you that This series will arrive at Disney+ on August 18, 2022.
In related issues, Avengers: Secret Wars will have a different story from comics. Similarly, Marvel Studios president accepts the errors of the fourth phase of the MCU.
Editor's note:
Considering that the fifth phase of the MCU has a better order, and less projects, it is likely that the employment situation of special effect artists improve a little in the future. However, it is clear that a series of substantial changes are necessary to ensure a better work environment with these teams.
